Harmony Creek cleanup and restoration: help our volunteer crew
Volunteers are restoring Harmony Creek in Madrid; $1,400 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

Harmony Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 101 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 188 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $530
• Native saplings and stakes: $740
• Signage and educational materials: $130
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Updates from Adrián
Good news. Because of your gifts ($52 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
We're at 3% thanks to 3 of you. the plan for signage and educational materials is now scheduled. More news soon.
