Hari's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled cataract surgery in October is out of reach without help covering $350 of the cost.

In June I was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections. My surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for October. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $580, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $350 short.
Doctors at Saint Matthew Hospital told me gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without cataract surgery. I work as a taxi driver, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $580 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a taxi driver have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $350 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $50
• Travel and lodging for the family: $30
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $250
• Post-operative medication: $20
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Good luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Mohammedia.
Thanks for sharing this, Hari. This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Hamilton but we're thinking of you. Greetings from Hamilton.
