Hailey was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in August. The surgeon at Hobart Regional Medical Center recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $3,450 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Hobart Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Hailey struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Hailey won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
