The flood hit the Hillcrest neighborhood on 16 September. My home was one of 42 damaged, and 3 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $1,250 goes: • Roofing sheets and timber: $510 • Clean water and purification supplies: $125 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $120 • Food parcels for displaced families: $110 • Tools and labor for repairs: $385 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Kayode

  2. Quick update: $848 raised so far (68%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
