Grace was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in June. The surgeon at San Jose University Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,750, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $7,750 short.
my wife has been in and out of San Jose University Hospital since June. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Grace struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Grace won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
