Gonzalo's acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment fund
Gonzalo is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
Anywhere in the world407 views
Gonzalo was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July. The oncology team at Málaga Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Gonzalo is 28, worked as a primary school teacher until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Málaga Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Transport to Málaga Cancer Centre: $660
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $370
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,400
• Scans and lab work: $620
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
