Godwin was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August. The oncology team at the Kaduna Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Godwin is 41, worked as a hairdresser until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Kaduna Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,300 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $760 • Scans and lab work: $135 • Transport to the Kaduna Oncology Institute: $75 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $90 • Household costs while unable to work: $240 Thanks for reading all this. - Esther

Updates from Esther

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($316 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Esther

  2. Small update. $250 so far, I made the first payment toward scans and lab work.
