The house fire that spread across the block hit the Northside neighborhood on 31 August. My home was one of 23 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $700
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,200
• Food parcels for displaced families: $330
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $620
Thanks for reading all this.

Hope you get there. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from London.
Thinking of you, Anna. More neighborhoods should do this. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Best of luck. Hope this works out for you. I hope December is when things finally get easier. God bless
Take care. Shared this with my family. I'll check back for the next update. Greetings from Rotterdam.
