Gilbert was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in August. The surgeon at Saint Francis Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $940, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $750 short.
my father has been in and out of Saint Francis Hospital since August. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $940 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Gilbert struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Gilbert won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
