Gianna's hip replacement surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After a large ovarian cyst, Gianna was cleared for hip replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Gianna was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in July. The surgeon at Brooklyn Orthopedic Institute recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,500, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $4,700 short.
my mother has been in and out of Brooklyn Orthopedic Institute since July. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Gianna struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Gianna won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
