Ghada needs a cutting table and overlocker to reopen a sewing studio
Ghada has run a sewing studio for fifteen years; the demolition of the market destroyed the equipment, and $550 will put it back on its feet.
🇪🇬 6th of October City, Giza, EgyptPosted Jul 25, 20261,548 views
For fifteen years I have run a sewing studio in 6th of October City. In June, the demolition of the market took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $550 goes:
• Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $340
• Initial stock: fabric: $95
• Shop repairs and licensing: $55
• Working capital for the first month: $60
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

You're not alone, Ghada. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't be hard on yourself for asking
