Get Nenita back on the road: my food truck repair fund

Without my food truck Nenita can't work; a $250 repair would put her back on the road.

I make my living with my food truck. 4 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $250. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $250 goes: • gearbox replacement (parts): $170 • Labor charges: $40 • Towing and inspection: $40 Thanks for being kind about this. - Nenita

Updates from Nenita

  1. 106% there. I met with the mechanic and confirmed the amounts. Thank you.

  2. Small update. $115 so far, the plan for gearbox replacement is now scheduled.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($80 in total) I made the first payment toward towing and inspection. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • Small businesses are the heart of Mandaue. Hope you're open again soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
