Get Lukman back on the road: my tuk-tuk repair fund

Without my tuk-tuk Lukman can't work; a $250 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 7 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $250. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $250 goes: • engine head gasket replacement (parts): $150 • Labor charges: $50 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $35 • Towing and inspection: $15 If you're reading this, thank you.

Thank you. If you're in Bandung I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. I'll keep the page updated.

  • So sorry you're going through this. Small businesses are the heart of Bandung. Hope you're open again soon.

    • Sending good thoughts. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Kathmandu donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
