Get Kumari back on the road: my pickup repair fund

Without my pickup Kumari can't work; a $300 repair would put her back on the road.

I make my living with my pickup. 7 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $300. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $300 goes: • engine head gasket replacement (parts): $210 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $30 • Labor charges: $60 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Kumari

Updates from Kumari

  1. Quick update: $88 raised so far (29%). the first invoice got paid this week. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($88 in total) the plan for labor charges is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 21% now ($63). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.

      • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Kumari.

        • Sure. The biggest one is engine head gasket replacement (parts), $210. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
