Get Gemma back on the road: my motorbike repair fund

Without my motorbike Gemma can't work; a $200 repair would put her back on the road.

I make my living with my motorbike. 8 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $200. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $200 goes: • transmission replacement (parts): $100 • Labor charges: $55 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $20 • Towing and inspection: $25 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Updates from Gemma

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($95 in total) I made the first payment toward road tax and insurance renewal. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Update from Manila: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 43% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 35% now ($70). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
