Get Dawid back on the road: my food truck repair fund
Dawid drives for a living in Katowice, and a broken gearbox has stopped all income for 5 weeks.
🇵🇱 Katowice, Silesia, Poland1,685 views
I make my living with my food truck. 5 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $500. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $500 goes:
• gearbox replacement (parts): $210
• Labor charges: $155
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $90
• Towing and inspection: $45
Thanks for being kind about this.

Looking forward to the next update. After 14 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Sending strength, Dawid. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 24 people at work. Take care.
