The gas account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on September unless I pay $150. I have never been late before losing my job in June. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which I don't have. I live with a newborn, and going through the rainy season without gas isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Ngozi's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $150 goes: • Utility arrears: $95 • Reconnection and late fees: $10 • Down payment on a payment plan: $45 Thanks for reading all this.

rooting for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 9 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything

      • keep going. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.

        • You're not alone, Ngozi. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I have a 8 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Gwagwalada.

Rooting for you, Ngozi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings
