The gas account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless I pay $200. I have never been late before a reduction in hours. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $65 first, which I don't have. I live with a disabled brother, and going through the rainy season without gas isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $200 goes: • Gas arrears: $105 • Reconnection and late fees: $45 • Down payment on a payment plan: $50 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Maria

Updates from Maria

Thank you all. We're at 48% now ($96). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward down payment on a payment plan.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($20 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
