Gas shut-off notice: help Althea pay $250
Althea is behind on gas bills after August's medical emergency and needs $250 to avoid a shut-off.

The gas account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless I pay $250. I have never been late before August's medical emergency.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $40 first, which I don't have.
I live with an elderly mother, and going through winter without gas isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Althea's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
Where the $250 goes:
• Utility arrears: $135
• Reconnection and late fees: $50
• Down payment on a payment plan: $65
Thanks for being kind about this.

Best of luck. Looking forward to the next update. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
Rooting for you, Althea. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I hope November is when things finally get easier
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Althea.
Keep going, Althea. Shared it with a few friends. Put this on a community board in Gaya this morning.
Praying for you. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
Hang in there. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I hope November is when things finally get easier. God bless.
