Garfield's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill

Garfield was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in October. The surgeon at Half-Way Tree Regional Medical Center recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,950, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,350 short.
my son has been in and out of Half-Way Tree Regional Medical Center since October. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,950 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Garfield struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Garfield won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
