Garba's Hodgkin lymphoma treatment fund
Garba is facing Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In August I was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. My oncology team at Ikeja Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in December. I was told to expect about 5 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 35, I worked as a farmer until August, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Ikeja Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $580
• Scans and lab work: $135
• Transport to Ikeja Regional Medical Center: $145
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $110
• Household costs while unable to work: $130
I hope life is good to you.
