Wambui was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in May. The surgeon at Jinja Community Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $880, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $700 short. my wife has been in and out of Jinja Community Hospital since May. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $880 is more than we can find. While we wait, Wambui struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Wambui won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $700 goes: • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $85 • Physiotherapy sessions: $85 • Travel and lodging for the family: $55 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $430 • Post-operative medication: $45 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Brian
