Gallbladder removal for Meseret: covering what insurance won't
After a thyroid nodule that needs removal, Meseret was cleared for gallbladder removal, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Meseret was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in July. The surgeon at Adama Regional Medical Center recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $930, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $650 short.
my wife has been in and out of Adama Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $930 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Meseret struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Meseret won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $650 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $50
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $420
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $180
Every share and every dollar helps.

Wishing you peace, Yeshi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Adama.
