Lola was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in December. The surgeon at Lagos Community Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,350, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $950 short. my daughter has been in and out of Lagos Community Hospital since December. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,350 is more than we can find. While we wait, Lola struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Lola won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $950 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $270 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $460 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $90 • Post-operative medication: $35 • Physiotherapy sessions: $40 • Travel and lodging for the family: $55 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
