Beth was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in April. The surgeon at Oakland Community Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,500, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $5,250 short.
my wife has been in and out of Oakland Community Hospital since April. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Beth struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Beth won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
