Gallbladder removal for Aarav: covering what insurance won't
After severe cataracts in both eyes, Aarav was cleared for gallbladder removal, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In May I was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes. My surgeon at Rajkot Regional Medical Center recommended gallbladder removal, and I have been placed on the schedule for September. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $2,300, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $1,150 short.
Doctors at Rajkot Regional Medical Center told me severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without gallbladder removal. I work as a taxi driver, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $2,300 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a taxi driver have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. I'll not be able to drive during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Travel and lodging for the family: $60
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $570
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $500
• Post-operative medication: $20
I hope life is good to you.

Stay strong, Aarav. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Quetta!
