Gabriel is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In August I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. My oncology team at Philadelphia Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in November. I was told to expect about 8 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 38, I worked as a hairdresser until August, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Philadelphia Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $12,250 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,750
• Scans and lab work: $630
• Transport to Philadelphia Regional Medical Center: $1,150
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $670
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,050

What exactly is the $12,250 for?
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($7,750) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Fair thing to want to know.
