Funmilayo served fourteen years; now needs help to get home
Funmilayo served fourteen years in the navy; $500 would cover a vocational welding course and tools.

I served fourteen years in the navy and was discharged in 2023 with a traumatic brain injury. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $500.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $500 goes:
• Essential household items: $35
• Training provider fees: $340
• Housing deposit and first month: $125
Thank you for reading my story.
