Funeral costs for Sem's grandfather, Marcel
Marcel passed away on 17 March; we're raising $3,900 for a respectful funeral in Amsterdam.

Marcel, my grandfather, passed away on 17 March after a stroke. He was 84 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $3,900 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 25 March.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Marcel to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program.

• Funeral home services and casket: $1,600
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,650
• Transport of the deceased: $440
• Memorial gathering for the family: $210

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 19 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
