Paolo, my brother, passed away on 1 December after a short illness. He was 90 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $2,600 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 16 December. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Paolo to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt. Where the $2,600 goes: • Memorial gathering for the family: $115 • Transport of the deceased: $270 • Funeral home services and casket: $2,215 Thanks for being kind about this. - Rita

  • can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Venice!

    • Thank you. If you're in Venice I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Ask me anything else.

  • This could happen to any of us. After 25 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Birmingham.

    • Your post was clear and honest. Love from San Nicolás de los Garza

      • Stay strong. Gave what I could, wish it was more. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Blessings.
