Karan, my brother, passed away on 7 May after a stroke. He was 75 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $650 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 19 May. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Karan to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Kozhikode hospice. Where the $650 goes: • Transport of the deceased: $30 • Memorial gathering for the family: $25 • Funeral home services and casket: $595 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Prakash
