Gerald, my father, passed away on 11 August after a stroke. He was 85 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $3,350 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 21 August. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Gerald to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank. Where the $3,350 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $1,650 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $930 • Transport of the deceased: $450 • Memorial gathering for the family: $320 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
