Jumoke, my grandmother, passed away on 9 September after complications from pneumonia. She was 44 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $950 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 24 September. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Jumoke to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Asaba hospice. Where the $950 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $590 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $270 • Transport of the deceased: $45 • Memorial gathering for the family: $45 I hope life is good to you.
