Elke, my sister, passed away on 21 August after a long fight with kidney disease. She was 39 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $2,950 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 2 September. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Elke to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank. Where the $2,950 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $1,350 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,050 • Transport of the deceased: $360 • Memorial gathering for the family: $190 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
