Funeral costs for Antoine's grandfather, Mathieu

Mathieu, my grandfather, passed away on 12 September after a short illness. He was 92 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $2,000 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 26 September. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Mathieu to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Strasbourg hospice. Where the $2,000 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $1,450 • Transport of the deceased: $185 • Memorial gathering for the family: $365 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
