Friendly visitor needed for a 93-year-old neighbor in Davao City
An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that is all Remedios is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Remedios, who's 93. Remedios lives alone in Davao City, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives 564 kilometers away.
Remedios loves opera, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Sunday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Thank you so much.

Keep going. Get well soon. Put this on a community board in Aurora this morning. Blessings
Wishing you peace. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
Thinking of you and your family, Maria. Shared this with my family. Love from London.
Hope things get better soon, Maria. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope July is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Davao City.
Thinking of you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from Mombasa
Thanks for sharing this, Maria. Looking forward to the next update. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Thanks for sharing this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best
