Friendly visitor needed for a 74-year-old neighbor in Bakersfield
Leah lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Leah, who's 74. Leah lives alone in Bakersfield, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Leah loves baking, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Tuesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Hang in there, Miles. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
Best of luck, Miles. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Bakersfield.
Wishing you peace, Miles. Wishing Leah a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Greetings from Alcalá de Henares.
Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Bakersfield
