Francisco was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in October. The surgeon at Monterrey General Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for January. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,650, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,600 short. my father has been in and out of Monterrey General Hospital since October. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,650 is more than we can find. While we wait, Francisco struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Francisco won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $1,600 goes: • Hospital stay (4 nights): $460 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $880 • Travel and lodging for the family: $55 • Physiotherapy sessions: $205 Every share and every dollar helps.
