Folake was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in May. The surgeon at Badagry Community Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $930, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $700 short. my mother has been in and out of Badagry Community Hospital since May. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $930 is more than we can find. While we wait, Folake struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Folake won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $700 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $510 • Physiotherapy sessions: $95 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $95 If you're reading this, thank you.
