Flood in Mumbai: help the Lakeview settlement rebuild
The flood damaged 63 homes in the Lakeview settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flood hit the Lakeview settlement on 8 July. My home was one of 63 damaged, and 4 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $620
• Clean water and purification supplies: $170
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $175
• Food parcels for displaced families: $260
• Tools and labor for repairs: $175
Every share and every dollar helps.

Wishing you peace, Smit. Hope you get there
Thinking of you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
Sending good thoughts, Smit. Great idea, hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Jakarta Barat so I could bring a meal. God bless.
