Flood in Ibadan: help the families of Orchard Lane rebuild
Neighbors in the families of Orchard Lane are rebuilding after the flood; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The flood hit the families of Orchard Lane on 14 July. My home was one of 24 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $600
• Clean water and purification supplies: $110
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $105
• Food parcels for displaced families: $195
• Tools and labor for repairs: $340
Thanks for reading all this.

More neighborhoods should do this. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Blessings.
this could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Ibadan.
so sorry you're going through this. More neighborhoods should do this. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
