Flood in Epe: help the Sunrise district rebuild
Neighbors in the Sunrise district are rebuilding after the flood; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.
🇳🇬 Epe, Lagos, Nigeria966 views
The flood hit the Sunrise district on 25 May. My home was one of 24 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $390
• Clean water and purification supplies: $90
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $120
• Food parcels for displaced families: $105
• Tools and labor for repairs: $345

how is Seyi doing now?
Good luck, Seyi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best.
Sending good thoughts, Seyi. Great idea, hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
