Flood in Casablanca: help the Sunrise district rebuild
The flood damaged 69 homes in the Sunrise district. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flood hit the Sunrise district on 13 March. My home was one of 69 damaged, and 9 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $470
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $270
• Tools and labor for repairs: $260
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

sending strength, Layla. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Take care.
everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from São Paulo
