Flood in Bordeaux: help Millbrook village rebuild
After the flood, families in Millbrook village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇫🇷 Bordeaux, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France363 views
The flood hit Millbrook village on 29 July. My home was one of 32 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $6,350 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $910
• Food parcels for displaced families: $960
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $880
• Roofing sheets and timber: $3,600
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

you're not alone. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Take care
Stay strong, Laura. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Pune.
Thinking of you and your family. Hope you get there. Love from Eldoret.
you're not alone. Shared this with my family. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care.
Thinking of you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I have a 8 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best
stay strong, Laura. Great idea, hope you get there. After 6 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
Keep going, Laura. More neighborhoods should do this. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Alcalá de Henares.
Stay strong, Laura. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to Winston-Salem so I could bring a meal. Love from Los Angeles
