Flood in Bogotá: help Lakeview village rebuild
After the flood, families in Lakeview village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇨🇴 Bogotá, Bogotá D.C., Colombia2,245 views
The flood hit Lakeview village on 27 August. My home was one of 28 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $2,000 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $750
• Clean water and purification supplies: $260
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $120
• Food parcels for displaced families: $290
• Tools and labor for repairs: $580
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Sending good thoughts, Lorenzo. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best
Take care, Lorenzo. More neighborhoods should do this.
Keep going, Lorenzo. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend
Good luck, Lorenzo. Looking forward to the next update. I'm in customer support myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
Best of luck, Lorenzo. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too
I hope things turn around soon. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
