Flood in Berlin: help the Greenfield settlement rebuild
The flood damaged 85 homes in the Greenfield settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flood hit the Greenfield settlement on 27 March. My home was one of 85 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $5,950 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $810
• Tools and labor for repairs: $2,100
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,950
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,090
Glad we found this place.

Thinking of you and your family, Theo. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Baton Rouge.
best of luck. Great idea, hope you get there. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
Sending love. Your post was clear and honest. Wish I lived closer to Phuket so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Berlin
