Fire in the settlement in Chattogram: help the Northside settlement rebuild
The fire in the settlement damaged 82 homes in the Northside settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The fire in the settlement hit the Northside settlement on 8 July. My home was one of 82 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $420
• Clean water and purification supplies: $50
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $145
• Food parcels for displaced families: $160
• Tools and labor for repairs: $275
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Praying for you, Mahin. Great idea, hope you get there. All the best.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Mahin
Roofing sheets and timber is $420 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Appreciate you taking the time.
hope things get better soon, Mahin. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 27 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
Hang in there, Mahin. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from San Jose.
You're not alone. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Gangnam.
Praying for you. Your post was clear and honest. Put this on a community board in Derry this morning. God bless.
Sending strength. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 9 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Chattogram
