Fionnuala was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in July. The surgeon at Kilkenny Community Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,500, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $5,250 short.
my wife has been in and out of Kilkenny Community Hospital since July. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Fionnuala struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Fionnuala won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
