Fiona's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled cataract surgery in September is out of reach without help covering $1,650 of the cost.

Fiona was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in May. The surgeon at Richards Bay General Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,750, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,650 short.
my wife has been in and out of Richards Bay General Hospital since May. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Fiona struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Fiona won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $630
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $560
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $200
• Post-operative medication: $60
• Physiotherapy sessions: $115
• Travel and lodging for the family: $85

Sending love. Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Juiz de Fora
Praying for you, Ruan. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. After 12 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
