Tiago was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in May. The oncology team at São Paulo Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Tiago is 50, worked as a nurse until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to São Paulo Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
